Tamiyka White is an actor, director, writer, stand-up comedian and producer. Stage credits: Alabaster, Salome: 10 Poems About One Thing, When Stars Align, Doubt, The Bluest Eye, A Raisin In The Sun, Miss Witherspoon, The Crucible, Jar The Floor and Before It Hits Home. Short Film: So F&%king Funny, The Boots, White Rabbit, The Saint  and Fifth Ward. Writing: 3 episodes of Complaints Anonymous, an anthology of original poems, 3 television pilots, 2 short films, a play-White Walls, and a solo show, The Weight. Commercials: Tamiyka can be seen in the recent installment of Apple’s commercial series, The Underdogs: Swiped Mac-Apple At Work. TJMaxx Campaign and Stub Hub. Directing: She recently made her film directorial debut with the short film, Expected/Unexpected produced by Black Girl Magic Creative Series. Pie Therapy, Meeting Matt Damon, and A Quiet Pause for the Rest of Your Life, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, and Taciturn Beings. Stand-Up Comedy Appearances: The Comedy Store, Hollywood’s Improv and The Icehouse. Television and Film: Tamiyka is also starring in AFI Thesis Short Film, The Miners, was recently screened at HollyShorts Summer 2023 and will be showcased at the AFI Film Festival the last weekend in October 2023. Be sure to check her out as Big Mama in Episode 6 on HBO’s Rap Sh!t when Season 2 premiers in November 2023. She can also be seen in Immortal City Records on Tubi as Ingrid opposite Mea Wilkerson, D. Woods and Ron Reaco Lee. Tamiyka co-starred as Nurse in Showtime’s Your Honor. And, as Claudine opposite comedic legends-Kim Coles and Angela Gibson-Bounce TV’s new comedy series, Finding Happy. Producing: Tamiyka co-founded Renaissance Performing Arts Center, a Black Theatre in Houston, Texas. In 2017, Tamiyka founded Black Girl Magic Creative Series, a multi-platform whose mission is to star in, write, produce and celebrate stories by a group of mature Black women . During the pandemic of 2020, BGMCS produced its first web series-Complaints Anonymous, where she also was Executive Producer and Showrunner. Training: She holds Bachelor’s Of Science in Theatre from the University of Houston School and a Certificate of Completion from the American Conservatory Theatre’s Summer Training Congress. Ms. White is a member of both AEA and SAG-AFTRA. Tamiyka recently completed the week-long conference dedicated to directors hosted by Director’s Lab West held at Pasadena Playhouse.
